Dhaka, 10 December 2025 – A Letter of Intent (LOI) was signed yesterday between the Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) and Leonardo S.p.A Italy at the Air Force Headquarters in Dhaka. The signing ceremony was attended by Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmud Khan, BBP, OSP, GUP, NSWC, psc, along with the Ambassador of Italy to Bangladesh, H.E. Antonio Alessandro. Senior officials, including the Principal Staff Officer of the Armed Forces Division and representatives from Leonardo S.p.A, were also present during the event. Under the LOI, Leonardo S.p.A will supply the Eurofighter Typhoon Multi-Role Combat Aircraft to the Bangladesh Air Force as part of BAF’s next-generation frontline combat modernization programme. The agreement marks a significant milestone in strengthening Bangladesh’s air defence capabilities and deepening defence cooperation between Bangladesh and Italy.
